Meeker Cooperative’s Internet service, VIBRANT Broadband, is building fiber-optic Internet infrastructure in the city of Litchfield. Fiber-optic is the fastest and most reliable way to deliver Internet to homes and businesses.
“VIBRANT Broadband has tremendous success with our Members and non-Members throughout Meeker Cooperative’s service area,” states Luke Johnson, Meeker Cooperative’s Electric & Broadband Operations Manager. “It is reliable and fast; our subscribers have been very vocal about how great VIBRANT Broadband Internet is for them.”
VIBRANT Broadband began building fiber infrastructure in 2018 throughout Meeker County and into the surrounding counties of Kandiyohi, Stearns, Wright, McLeod, and Renville. In 2019, VIBRANT Broadband started offering fiber and fixed-wireless internet service to Meeker Cooperative’s members and to non-members.
“The rural community had been unserved and underserved when it comes to Internet access,” says Tim Mergen, GM/CEO at Meeker Cooperative. “Our members were asking for better Internet so the Board of Directors decided that Meeker Cooperative could be the one to provide it, just like it brought electricity to its members in 1935.”
VIBRANT Broadband already has fiber-optic Internet service available in other towns in Meeker and Stearns Counties, now there is an opportunity to bring Rip Snort’n Fast Internet to Litchfield.
“We’ve gotten so many calls from Litchfield residents to bring them VIBRANT Broadband,” says Mary Petsche, Meeker Cooperative Energize and Connect Co-Manager. “So many people want a fast and reliable Internet connection at their homes and businesses.”
Construction will begin in April. Businesses and homes can begin getting fiber-fast Internet speeds from VIBRANT Broadband starting in late Spring. Every Litchfield business and resident will be able to sign up for VIBRANT by the end of summer. VIBRANT Broadband is ready to Gig-A-Vi™ Litchfield!
